This theme follows President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the 2nd ASEAN Summit which took place last 19th June at Nadi, Fiji Islands, as a statement was made referring that the green economy is significant for Indonesia’s resilience. Green economy has become a new economic paradigm, promoting economic progress without harming natural wealth and resources.

Another key factor to be considered is fair trade. This aspect, amongst others, is shown by fairness to all interested and Indonesian businessmen’s ability to meet fair trade’s international standards.

Additionally, growth in the positive image of Indonesian products as nation branding efforts will be apprehended through improving added value by terms of product quality, as well as development and packaging design, the use of the brand, plus environmental awareness. Added value can be gained by utilising the potential of Indonesia’s abundant natural resources, with the innovation of well sustained entrepreneurs.

The use of environmentally friendly technologies together with local knowledge has become an added value to the Indonesian export product competitiveness. With downstream strategy and full understanding of appropriate technology of international standard, it is expected to support the growth of Indonesia’s trade sector forward.

TEI 2014 is a great effort to increase and maintain exports. Aside from intensive facilitation for audiences and exhibitors, the revamp of the exhibition management, exhibitor recruitment, information services and buyers’ services are crucial factors which will continue to improve the quality for the success of the yearly TEI.

By development, TEI 2014 is expected to export market opportunities and access to non-traditional areas, including Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East which are increasingly open.
