Louvre - Another group to open multiple hotels in Indonesia

The tenth largest hotel group in the world and the second largest of Europe, the Louvre Hotels Group, has publicised expansion plans for Indonesia, announcing up to 30 new hotels within the upcoming three years under the Première Classe and Golden Tulip brands.

The announcement marks a further obligation to the destination following Golden Tulip’s access into the market during late 2012.

Since then it has established the Golden Tulip Galaxy Banjarmasin offering 138 rooms. There are six more hotels totalling an additional 1,286 rooms, planned to open this year:

1. Golden Tulip Devins, Bali - scheduled for a June opening, offering 108 rooms in trendy lifestyle region of Seminyak
2. Golden Tulip Essential - August opening, offering 94 rooms in the Denpasar business district region
3. Golden Tulip Jineng Tamansari, Kuta, Bali - October opening, offering 185 rooms on Sunset Road
4. Golden Tulip Essential - November opening, offering 186 rooms in the Pontianak business region
5. Golden Tulip Kalyana, Buah Batu, Bandung - December opening, offering 302 rooms with easy access to industrial and business regions
6. Royal Tulip Bandung, Baros, Cimahi - December opening, offering 411 rooms with easy access to Jakarta, situated just across the exit of the toll road. This will be the flagship of the Indonesian group, being the largest hotel of the group, as well as the first Bandung hotel quartering the major convention centre of the town alongside a wedding chapel

Pierre-Frederic Roulot, the Louvre Hotels Group chief executive officer, specially visited Jakarta to deliver the announcement.

Development plans include three hotels within the booming tourist destination of Bali – Golden Tulip Devins, Seminyak; Golden Tulip Essential, Denpasar; plus Golden Tulip Jineng Tamansari, Kuta. This is alongside Golden Tulip Essential Pontianak in West Kalimantan, plus two properties in Bandung - the Golden Tulip Kalyana in Buah Batu, plus the luxurious five star Royal Tulip Bandung in Baros, Cimahi.

The development will also include the launch of the Première Classe brand. There are ten upcoming hotels in Indonesia including one of the major Première Classe hotels in the world, to establish in Bandung in two years.

Roulot went on to announce there was high potential for growth in Indonesia, where a company such as Golden Tulip can offer owners assurance in distribution and international management expertise, plus acknowledgment of a strong brand.

Claims of the robust economy and concrete long-term outlook are said to motivate greater business opportunities, making travel in the country greater.

A representative of the Golden Tulip Hospitality of South East Asia believes Indonesia as the tenth largest economy in the world, will become one of the most appealing and significant markets for hotel chains, with confidence for success for the Golden Tulip brand, providing value for owners and employment opportunities for local staff.

Indonesia is also the major economy of ASEAN, with Thailand ranked second.

The Paris based, Louvre Hotels Group, was founded during 1976 and from 2005, it was owned by the Starwood Capital Group of USA. Since July 2009, Louvre Hotels is associated with the Golden Tulip Hospitality Group. Internationally, the group presently ranks eighth largest hotel group worldwide.

The group has hotels within China and Thailand in Asia. Worldwide, it totals 1,100 hotels, offering more than 80,000 rooms across more than 40 countries.
