Sinarmas unit Bumi Serpong to enter Indonesian toll road business
Indonesian property developer PT Bumi Serpong
Damai, a unit of Singapore-listed Sinarmas Land Ltd, has set up a joint venture
to build toll roads which could boost the prices of its surrounding projects.
The company aims to
work with Kompas Gramedia Group and PT Astratel Nusantara to develop the
36-kilometre Serpong-Balaraja toll road on the outskirts of Jakarta, Bumi
Serpong Director Hermawan Wijaya told reporters on Monday.

Indonesia Remains Asia's Leading Force in Office Space Development in 2014
Growth in Jakarta's office space sector is expected to continue its
upward trend. The Colliers International Asia Real Estate Forecast 2014,
released by the leading global commercial real estate company, mentions a
significant increase of new rental office space in the capital city of
Indonesia. As such, Indonesia's office space sector (which is particularly
centered in the big cities on Java such as Jakarta and Surabaya) is Asia's
leader in terms of office space growth. However, this year's growth will not be
as strong as in 2012 and 2013.

2013 was strongest commercial real estate market in Asia Pacific on record
"The report describes Indonesia as a standout performer in 2013, recording the highest rent growth in the region"
Last year was the strongest year on record for commercial real estate markets in the Asia Pacific region with direct investment reaching US$126.7 billion, according to data just released by Jones Lang LaSalle.
Transaction volumes over the year were up 29% on 2012, surpassing the previous record of US$120.5 billion in 2007, and volumes are expected to continue to grow in 2014.

Kosenda Hotel, Jakarta Celebrates Indonesian Design
Opened officially in September, the 60-room Kosenda Hotel merges
traditional Indonesian culture with contemporary design, an approach that is
visible even before you step inside. The angled façade, which stands out amid
the drab office buildings that surround it, is patterned with recessed diamond
shapes that recall the woven palm-leaf wrappers, orketupat, used to cook
Indonesian rice dumplings.

Jakarta Skyscraper to Draw Energy from Wind
The new headquarters for the Indonesian
state-owned energy company will be the tallest tower in Indonesia, if complete,
with designs to harness energy from the wind.
The Pertamina Energy Tower is expected to reach a height of 530 meters in Jakarta, almost doubling Indonesia's tallest tower, the 269-meter-tall Cemindo Tower, also located in Jakarta.

Top 10 Global Office Markets Through 2015 - Indonesia is #1 in the global office market growth
The office market in Jakarta is forecast to
witness the highest rental rate growth through 2015, with rents on track to
increase almost 30 percent, according to Cushman & Wakefield.
The Indonesia capital leads the global office market growth forecast for the second year in a row, with rates more than double the level in 2011. The growth already seen in Jakarta has positioned it as Asia’s hottest market.
